Merchandise Assistant Internship

This 120 hour per semester paid internship is offered in the fall, spring and summer. Through its coursework, you'll gain valuable experience to prepare you for your first position in a Buying office - and have a direct impact on helping our company reach objectives in sales, volume, gross margin and turnover.

What you have the opportunity to do

• Procure samples, keep track of their status and return them to vendors
• Maintain vendor contact lists and track photography shot counts
• Create leadsheets (lists of products that will be sold on macys.com, categorized by look)
• Enter detailed description of each item in Features & Benefits section
• Prepare materials for weekly presentations of new product launches
• Work on special projects as assigned and provide general administrative support

What to bring to the internship

• Junior year status working toward a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, Marketing, or related fields with a solid academic record
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Ability to meet deadlines while working independently and as part of a team
