"Variety has really been the key to success in my career. I have succeeded because I have been exposed to a wide range of experiences. From working in a commission store, to working in a union store, to working in a non-union store ... from being an assistant buyer and a buyer ... from opening a new building – I had to be flexible in my approach and I had to learn from and work with a variety of people. That really captures what I believe is the best thing about working at Macy's and Bloomingdale's. It is a large corporation with avenues for anyone. It's an organization where a variety of opportunities exist for people of all different levels of management experience and educational background. I was a History major in college, but Macy's gave me great training and I was able to translate that into a retail career ... and one that keeps growing!"
