At Syracuse University, my major actually was Retail. I did the Executive Training Program at Macy's East, and it was a great transition from college to career.

A day here as an Associate Planner at the Home Store starts by checking your receipts to see how much you brought in for the week or the day. Checking calls from Regional Marketing Managers, Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Product Managers. And making sure you're in stock for all your assortments.

Out of all my responsibilities, I truly enjoy really digging down into the operating divisions, seeing what sells where. Is it a regional thing? Is it a price point? And the biggest thing I've learned from the people here is to take risks and not be afraid. Be confident.
